AVID is an international program, adopted by nearly 4,500 schools in 45 states as well as the District of Columbia. AVID is also adopted by 16 countries and territories, many through the Department of DefenseDependent Schools and Canada. The AVID curriculum, based on rigorous standards, was developed by middle and senior high school teachers in collaboration with college professors.
